the soil also looks really thick, try to get some air to the roots by getting a pencil and sticking it in the soil about 1-2 in away from the plant. put several holes in the soil all over. one thing that i did (because i used to over water my baby) was get a moisture meter. its got a long probe on it that you stick down into the soil so that you can see when she is ready to water. i used the probe to aerate the soil too. i hop this helps sweety pie.
