I just read that SB 109 passed 34-1 in the Colorado State senate. Here's the full text of the bill as passed:

It still has to make it through the House Judiciary Committee, but it looks to be good as done- No mention in the bill of when it goes into effect, either.

Summary:

Basically it requires patients to see the doc twice, once before the recommendation and once for the recommendation itself. Since none of the Dr's that will actually write the damn recommendations will take insurance (and I have never heard of a primary care physician writing one) this is going to be damn expensive. The doc is *required* to do a full physical, and the state board of health can use the registry of patients to go after Doctors that write too many recommendations. If you get popped for any kind of drug charge, you have to immediately renew with a state-appointed doc. If you are under 21, you have to have 2 Drs sign off on your recommendation. Dr can't do examinations on dispensaries property, offer discounts, have any financial stake in the dispensary. Etc etc etc. Read the bill and be afraid.

So it just got a LOT harder to get a card in Colorado. And more expensive. Probably going to shut down some dispensaries due to the lack of new patients, too. Since you have to go through the full process every year, lots of patients are going to stop fooling with it and go back to toxic narcotics.

If you happen to live in Colorado- Take note of the one senator that voted against this abortion of a bill, and vote the rest of the sons of bitches out of office next election. If it becomes political suicide to vote for shit like this, it won't happen again.

 Shit like this really gets to me. As a medical patient (CRIMINAL) I have seen countless times govt. agencies making us jump through hoops, just to get some relief from pharmaceutical nightmares,(most of which the side effects out weigh the medical benefit) When will the potproganda wear off. This is the 21st century people we are supposed to learn from our mistakes, instead we keep reliving them. There is more Medical applications than arguments against this GOD given plant. Sorry to vent I could go on for hours. In N.C. alone we have people who dont even know we have a Medical Marijuana Bill awaiting a vote by our House Health Committee in June. I have educated as many peeps as I can and will continue to push for change. I sincerely hate to hear that Colorado is doing its medical patients in this fashion. We as a people of this country need to stand up for our rights and demand that our elected officials end prohibition of our medicine or we will not re-elect them. Since the foundation of the world this plant has been here and has been used for everything from medicines to clothes. There is countless uses for the plant Cannabis I could never name them all. So people stand up for your rights and do something about it, or sit on your asses and hope those of us that do get something done.

A lot of it is complete BS .... legislation written by and voted on by people who have absolutely NO fucking idea about what they are dealing with... none of them is a patient...none of them has had direct contact with and been able to see for themselves the miracles that MMJ can achieve .... I have.

I am alive today because of my use of Cannabis. I am 41 and have Chron's Disease (among other ailments). Between the intense abdominal pain and the complete lack of appetite ... MMJ has been the only thing that has helped and is able to give me "dealable" days.

I hope they don't just push the whole thing back underground, we have come so far in educating those who once thought The most beautiful plant in the world was so dangerous that it deserved to be eradicated and outlawed.

To Everyone who is a proponent : Please help to educate as much as you can.

To those who aren't : ...You have a right to "change the channel" so to speak, and not watch the show if you don't want to... So why the heck does it bother you if I want to smoke a joint...How does that effect you in any way shape or form...

All we want is to be able to use the Medicine that works best for us without the fear of prosecution or discriminated against. It's as simple as that. Leave us alone.

If you feel the need to legislate our medicinal use...then AT LEAST TALK TO US , the patients, caregivers & family members ~ the only people that your laws are going to effect ~ Before you go off half cocked & spread more lies and outright incorrect information.

This turned into a Rant... Sorry.

Sounds like another ploy to line their pockets at the expense of those in need . They figure if they made this much last year how can we double their profit margin with out having more product . Lets just make them work harder at getting the script , taxes the fuck out the docs and if they give to many scripts we can fine their asses for more revenue. By doing this they can now write more fines for those that cant efford to pay the medical bills of the extra doctors visits so they lose their cards and end up as criminals again , and now that their name address and use is public record . It makes it easier to find the users and fine them once the card is revoked.

Why must so many innocent ppl die , when we have a cure ?
